Meet Jan Brubacher – in the Winner’s Circle 🙂

Competition is not for everyone.  However, if you like thrills, you’ll love to meet Jan Brubacher because she thrives on it.  With her beloved collection of horses and ponies, Jan constantly challenges herself to improve with new mounts and repeat top scores with her old favorites.

Students at North Road Farm get their adrenaline pumped at local and regional horse shows. A show doesn’t mean get up-tight and worried. It really means: “I’m going to test myself and my relationship with my horse.” Can you can perform at the level of your practice at the farm? Do you know the most important thing is to just try your best? Live and learn from the outcome.

No Pressure

Jan will never pressure you to show because that is not the primary focus of North Road Farm. Only challenge yourself under the eyes of a judge if you love risk, excitement, anticipation and performance. Jan will do her best to pair you with the ideal horse or pony for the job. This choice will give you the greatest return on your hard work in the saddle. As the saying goes: “When preparedness meets luck, you win the pretty ribbon – maybe a trophy too!”

Turbo Jackie

Jackie & Jan NE Hunter TrialsJackie & Jan NE Hunter Trials 2018 This is Jackie’s second try at going solo on the NE Hunter Trials</ course. All the fox hunt clubs send their best members to compete against other NE clubs. We ride over a natural course of fences you’d find out looking to chase a fox with the hounds. (Don’t fret. This is no long a blood sport. We never kill foxes.) 2018 Myopia Hunt Club Hamilton MA hosted the hunter trials.

Students Share Their Thoughts

“I just wanted to thank you again for the great first lesson you gave Jensen today. She had so much fun! She can't wait to go back. You have a really great way about you and your love for what you do shows. Also, thank you for spending so much extra time with us, we really appreciate it! Looking forward to seeing you at the next lesson!"

Judy, North Andover, MA

“Originally our daughter was curious about the sport and drawn to horses. But as she continued with lessons, other unexpected benefits were realized to include: improved performance in school, better ability to concentrate and focus on a task, and overall improved confidence.”

Amy Goodrich, Epping, NH

“Riding is important to me because I got introduced to it by my wife, and it is a completely new activity, which gives me completely new skills. Horses are beautiful animals, and riding them makes you feel good, especially when you are in harmony with the animal. I also benefit from the therapeutic movement in hips and back. Jan explains horsemanship concepts in an easy to understand manner. She relates to her students. She is very patient. Her love of horses is transmitted when she teaches.”

“You add the entire mind/body experience that is uncommon. You invent ways to ease rider and horse. You add in fun stuff. You make it fun Jan.”

Uwe Zimmerman, Merrimac, NH
